‘Sizhukong’ jazz band from Taiwan to perform at 7th Delhi International Jazz Festival 2017

Taiwan’s ‘Sizhukong’(絲竹空) jazz band will take stage in Nehru Park, Chanakya Puri, New Delhi at 7.30pm, Sept. 25 during the 7th Delhi International Jazz Festival organized by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).
At the invitation of ICCR and co-sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of China (Taiwan), ‘Sizhukong’ will stage a 45-minute performance after ‘Shin Lyun Pill & Nu-Stream’ from Korea and ‘Rattle & Hum Music Society’ from Nagaland, India.
Formed in 2005, ‘Sizhukong’ is an instrumental jazz fusion band using Chinese traditional instruments. ‘Sizhukong’ originally means “Silk, Bamboo, Open” in Chinese and refers to a pressure point near the temples in human body. Their music is a fusion of sounds old and new that reaches to the past and hurtles towards the future.
The 7th Delhi International Jazz Festival will run three (3) days from Sept. 23 to 25, 2017. Entrance to the festival is free of charge.
