With regards to the recent Philippine applicants misguided by unknown Taiwan e-visa agency websites, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in the Philippines would like to remind those applying for the e-visa to take note of the following important information:
- Recently, TECO has received reports that some applicants applied for the e-visa through agency websites and have been charged an unreasonable fee, but did not get their visa. TECO hereby clarifies that the office has never delegated any agency or agency websites to process the Taiwan e-visa. TECO would like to remind all applicants to be wary of unknown e-visa agency websites! TECO will not be held responsible for any losses that may result from unknown or false commercial agencies.
- The processing of the Taiwan e-visa is quite simple. Applicants only need to fill out the online form directly from our Bureau of Consular Affairs (website:www.boca.gov.tw), without having to provide supporting documents. The handling fee costs NTD 1,632 (approximately USD 54 depending on bank exchange rate) and is payable through credit card (MasterCard/Visa/JCB). A representative may also make the payment on applicant’s behalf. When an e-visa application has been approved, applicants are required to download their e-visa and print out it on an A4 paper.
- The e-visa processing time is usually no more than three working days. Please note that the e-visa DOES NOT HAVE expedited services nor extra charges incurred. Any website offering urgent services is not part of TECO’s policy.
- For further information or inquiries about Taiwan e-visa please contact TECO at Tel: 02-887-6688 ext. 100 or visit the website of ROC (Taiwan) Bureau of Consular Affairs for frequently asked questions.
