From September 15 to September 17, the "Taiwan Boutique Fashion Lifestyle Day" in South City Mall in Kolkata, India, hosted by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council and the Bureau of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) featured 50 Taiwanese boutiques. It is envisaged that expanding the scope to include 3C, beauty, home life, and other areas will increase the popularity of Taiwanese goods in India.

The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Director Sambit Dasgupta, New Town Mayor Debashis Sen, and other esteemed visitors were invited to participate on the event's first day. Puja Banerjee, a well-known actress from West Bengal, was additionally invited to take part in the exhibition area, drawing even more visitors. Local news organizations including The Indian Express and Eastern Chronicle also dispatched reporters there for interviews.

According to Sing-Yi Jheng (鄭幸宜), Director of the Kolkata office of the Taipei World Trade Center Liaison Office, India is now the world's fifth-largest economy with a sizable market and significant development potential. Experience-based events for Taiwan's premium goods in Kolkata will improve the industry's overall reputation and exposure.

India became the world's most populous nation in June of this year, according to figures from the United Nations, when its population surpassed 1.4 billion. There is enormous potential for domestic demand under the demographic dividend and the rise of middle- and high-income households.
