2023 Thailand-Taiwan Industrial Collaboration Summit Joining Hands to Create Win-Win Business Opportunities through Industry Transformation into Net-Zero Era

The 2023 Thailand-Taiwan Collaboration Summit was held on September 12
The 2023 Thailand-Taiwan Industrial Collaboration Summit (the 7th annual summit) was held on September 12, 2023, at Sukosol Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. The Summit was organized by the Chinese National Federation of Industries (CNFI) and the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) and jointly implemented by the Food Industry Research and Development Institute of Taiwan and the National Food Institute of Thailand (NFI). The event attracted more than 250 industry representatives from Taiwan and Thailand. CNFI Chairman Chi-Chia Hsieh and FTI Chairman Mr. Kriengkrai Thiennukul were both in chair ; distinguished guests included Chia-Lung Lin, Secretary General to the President of Taiwan, and Chuan-Neng Lin, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, who also delivered their encouragement and best wishes for industrial cooperation between both sides in the foreseeable future.

Building upon the solid foundation of collaboration between Taiwan and Thailand in the past ,  this year's Summit adopted the world's collective efforts to achieve net-zero emissions as its theme to activate collaborative opportunities for the food biotechnology, textile, automation, and smart city industries between two countries. Representatives from Taiwan's Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Administration for Digital Industries, Ministry of Digital Affairs and the National Development Council were also invited to attend this year's summit to jointly witnessed the signing of seven Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), including a trilateral collaboration between Changhua Christian Hospital, Overbrook Hospital, and Chunghwa Telecom (Thailand) Co. Ltd. to establish and promote smart medical care and remote medical care businesses in Thailand; a collaboration between Hitspectra Intelligent Technology Co. Ltd. and Hongda Co., Ltd. to improve agricultural production efficiency and quality through the use of AI technology; and a collaborative project between Weyu Technology Co., Ltd. and AURUM Electronics Co., Ltd. to provide the best energy efficiency solutions for cloud-based smart factories. In the automation industry, the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) established a cooperative relationship with the Thai-German Institute (TGI) to strengthen future industry connections and talent cultivation for tripartite.

In the textile industry, Auspring Co., Ltd. and Healthcare Supply & Service co., Ltd. agreed to develop grapheme-based materials for applications in medical mattresses and hospital fabrics for Thai and ASEAN markets; Asiatic Fiber Corporation (AFC) and Paladin Workwear Co., Ltd. established a cooperative supply chain relationship to facilitate Taiwanese workwear fabrics into ASEAN markets. In the food biotechnology industry, the Food Industry Research and Development Institute, the Taiwan Association for Lactic Acid Bacteria (TALAB), and the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC) join hands in a trilateral collaboration to promote cooperation between the Taiwanese and Thai probiotics industries, thereby invigorating the industrial ecosystem and creating global business opportunities.

During this year's Taiwan-Thailand Industrial Collaboration Summit, the Taiwan Textile Research Institute (TTRI) and Thailand Textile Institute (THTI) collaborated to hold an unveiling ceremony for the "Textile Testing and Verification Joint Service Center". Through collaborative and mutual certification by Taiwan and Thailand's national-level textile testing laboratories, Taiwanese businesses will receive more convenient testing services and the scope of textile testing and verification services will be expanded to ASEAN markets organically.

In his remarks to the Summit, Chuan-Neng Lin, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, sincerely expressed that Taiwan will continue emphatically recognizing the value and potential of business opportunities has been created through the industrial collaboration driven by the Summit platform and profoundly encourage Taiwanese and Thai industries to grasp the opportunities driven by net-zero goal to collectively create net-zero industries and win-win results between two countries.
