The “Taiwan Expo in India 2023,” organized by the International Trade Administration (TITA), Ministry of Economic Affairs, and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), concluded in Mumbai. It drew 15,000 visitors over the course of three days and generated more than $75 million in potential business opportunities. The exhibition received high recognition from the local government of Maharashtra, with Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Devendra Fadnavis gracing the opening ceremony and touring the exhibition. Government officials were also dispatched to explore opportunities in digital sensing products, indicating the state government's interest in procuring Taiwanese products. The exhibition's success was further amplified by coverage in prominent Indian media outlets such as Lokmat and the national television channel DD News, enhancing Taiwan's reputation.

Exhibitors reported experiencing remarkable market potential in India and expressed that the exhibition's impact exceeded their expectations. For instance, Ahamani EV Technology Co., ltd. seized opportunities in the unmanned drone logistics sector and secured substantial contracts with Skye Air logistics company and agricultural drone purchases. Chung-Hsin Electric and Machinery Manufacturing Corp. showcased a Fuel Cell Auto rickshaw equipped with a fuel cell that can be changed in just 30 seconds, along with an air purification and ventilation system, drawing significant interest from major Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturers. Tron Energy Technology Corporation, with an electric bus factory in the state of Maharashtra, reached an agreement for a plant visit with Indian electric bus and energy storage system buyers, suggesting promising future business prospects. India's automobile manufacturing giant, Mahindra & Mahindra, made on-site visits to Teco Electric and Machinery co., ltd. and Formosa Smart Energy Tech Corp., expressing high interest in the electric vehicle powertrain systems and lithium iron phosphate battery cells produced by these companies, setting the stage for potential collaborations.

National Cheng Kung University Hospital, responsible for India in the Ministry of Health and Welfare's (MOHW) One Country, One Center (1C1C) project, partnered with EBM Technologies to promote mobile medical display units, with hopes of introducing Taiwanese products to large local hospitals. Taiwan's leading children's oral care spray brand, Toothfilm inc., attracted visits from Indian beauty and healthcare brands such as Skinluv Cosmeceuticals, Aurochem, Onco Bhansali, demonstrating extremely optimistic business prospects. Ronhuw Industries co., ltd., a specialist in exporting stationery, received high praise for its products from Indian buyers, not only engaging in negotiations with multiple potential clients but also forming alliances with competitors for the first time in over two decades during the exhibition.

The exhibition effectively harnessed the power of social media to disseminate information about high-quality Taiwanese products to a broader online consumer base. On the opening day of the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion, popular Indian actress Ms. Mouni Roy was invited to create excitement and created posts promoting the event on her Instagram account with nearly 28 million followers, attracting her fans to experience Taiwanese excellence. TAITRA also invited three Indian social media influencers with millions of followers to interact with exhibitors and create unboxing videos, significantly enhancing the Indian public's perception and value experience of Taiwanese products.

TAITRA stated that Taiwan Expo in India as Taiwan's flagship promotion event in India, has strongly indicated the booming business opportunities in India, given the substantial footfall of visitors and the potential for trade. TAITRA announced that it Taiwan Expo will continue to be held in 2024 and warmly welcomes Taiwanese businesses to participate, enabling them to grasp the commercial potential in the Indian market.
