2024 Taipei International Book Exhibition to kick off on Feb. 20

The 2024 Taipei International Book Exhibition (TiBE), titled “Catch the Reading Wave,” will take place from Feb. 20 to 25 at the Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC), with the Netherlands serving as the Guest of Honor.

The content of each exhibition area was unveiled at the press conference on Jan. 30 by the Ministry of Culture's (MOC) Department of Humanities and Publications director Yang Ting-zhen (楊婷媜), Taipei Book Fair Foundation chairperson Isabella Wu Yun-yi (吳韻儀), and curators of each theme pavilions.

The MOC highlighted that, besides the Netherlands Pavilion, other pavilions are also set up for easier access. They are designed according to different themes which include children’s books, digital publications, book prize winners, and literary works. In addition, there is a special section for books related to civil issues to showcase Taiwanese micropublications which are uncommon in the market.

For the first time, the TiBE will host an outdoor book fair at the TWTC Square and the Four Four South Village (四四南村), aiming to inspire reading through collaboration with creative markets.

Besides, the TiBE has joined hands with libraries in seven cities and counties to launch the “2024 Winter Holiday Reading Festival.” From now until Feb. 25, various seminars, workshops, and exhibitions about Dutch culture will be held throughout the country.
