Director General David Cheng-Wei Wu was honored to be part of the 2024 Buddha's Birthday Multicultural Festival conducted by the Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) Sydney Branch. In the opening ceremony, Venerable Abbess Manko, Chief Abbess of Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Temples in Australia and New Zealand, alongside leaders from NSW religious communities, celebrated Buddha's birthday by praying for all living things and sharing kindness and Great Love.
VIPs attending included the NSW Premier Chris Minns, NSW Minister for Multiculturalism Stephen Kamper, NSW Shadow Minister for Multiculturalism Mark Coure, NSW Shadow Minister for Fair Trade Tim James, Clr. Emelda Davis representing Sydney Lord Mayor, and President of Nan Tien Institute Professor Denise Kirkpatrick. They highly commended Nan Tien Temple and BLIA’s contributions to local communities in education, culture, art, and charity. Most importantly, their timely support for local communities during challenges and difficult times was praised as the best paradigm of Coexistence & Coprosperity.
We will continue to work closely with Nan Tien Temple to further promote the force for good and create more positive energy for Australian society.
