To showcase Taiwan’s contributions to international health over many decades, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Welfare, is pleased to announce an online photography exhibition to launch April 26, 2017: “Leave No One Behind: World Health Security Needs Taiwan, Taiwan Needs the WHO.” The exhibition will be hosted at http://leavenoonebehind.com.tw
 

The exhibition features a selection of photographs and films that portray the contribution of the Republic of China to medicine and public health around the world over many decades. These are arranged under five subheadings: safeguarding global health, combating major diseases, building medical capacity, providing humanitarian medical aid, and Taiwan and the WHO. This is also an effort to show that Taiwan, as a member of the international community, is willing to work with other countries to leave no one behind, as envisioned in the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and, in particular, to realize Sustainable Development Goal 3, ensuring healthy lives and promoting the wellbeing of all at all ages.
 
Taiwan has invested over US$6 billion in international medical and humanitarian aid efforts that have benefited millions of people directly or indirectly in over 80 countries since 1996.
 
Special thanks are due to those organizations that provided the photographs and videos for this exhibition. We, the organizers, trust that this effort will leave no doubt as to Taiwan’s commitment to global health, and help lead to the inclusion of Taiwan in the global health system, particularly in the WHO and the WHA, which would facilitate even greater collaborative efforts between Taiwan and the world community, and benefit both.
