Representative Anne Hung and colleagues from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia wish everyone a Happy New Year at the 2023 Chinese Taipei School Kuala Lumpur New Year Flag Raising Ceremony and School Fair on 1st of January 2023. The event was hosted by Mr. Tu Shu Yao, the Chairperson of the school and Ms. Cheng Ya Fen, the Principal.

In her remarks, Representative Anne Hung thanked the school for holding the flag raising ceremony every year on the first day of the year. Taiwan has shown resilience in the past few years with continued economic and per capita income growth during the pandemic. Taiwan is now the world’s 16th-largest trading nation and 21st-largest economy. She also emphasized that Malaysia has always been Taiwan's close partner in various fields like trade, investment, education, tourism, culture, agriculture and health care. She wished the bilateral relationships between the two sides grow even stronger in the new year. Representative Anne Hung also affirmed the effort of the school in promoting high-quality Taiwanese education and Chinese culture overseas, and the contribution in facilitating people-to-people diplomacy.

The dignitaries included, Mr. Tu Shu Yao, Ms. Cheng Ya Fen, Board of Directors of Chinese Taipei School, Ms. Luo Xin Yi, chair of Parent Committee of Chinese Taipei School, Mr. James Wei Tsao Tseng, vice chairperson of Taiwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Malaysia, Mr. Lin Young Chang, Counselling Director of Taiwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Malaysia, Mr. Pang King Hoe, Deputy President of The Federation of Malaysian Alumni Associations of Taiwan Universities, representatives of Dah Yung International Bilingual School, Global Federation of Chinese Business Women Kuala Lumpur Chapter, Formosa Women Organisation of Malaysia, and South Korea's Puil Foreign Language High School.
