Representative Francis Kuo-Hsin Liang was invited by Mr. Boo Sze Yang, the exhibition curator of the “Motionless Boundary: Singapore-Taiwan Art Exchange Exhibition” as open ceremony’s guest of honor at the Element Art Space on 7 July 2018. The art exhibition witnessed vibrant interactions between the artists from Taiwan and Singapore.
In his address, Representative Liang highlighted the close exchanges in art and culture between Taiwan and Singapore. In 2017, there were over five visits and joint art exhibitions between artists from both countries. In addition to the exhibition at the Element Art Space, the works of the participating artists will also be showcased, along with works of Japanese artists, in Tainan in November this year. Such exhibitions foster greater exchanges between the artists of the participating countries and also help them to reach out to wider audiences. Representative Liang was led on a tour of the exhibits by Mr. Boo Sze Yang, and was inspired and deeply touched by the 25 pieces of artworks from 12 young Singaporean and Taiwan artists. He also took the opportunity to invite the artists to the “Future Allegories” exhibition held at the Taipei Representative Office in Singapore. The “Future Allegories” exhibition features works of young Taiwanese artists under Taiwan’s Art Bank Program. These artworks will be moved to ION Gallery in October this year to enable greater public understanding and appreciation of Taiwan’s art. |
