Ministry of Culture of Taiwan, Taipei Economic and Culture of Office in Thailand (TECO Thailand), Spotlight Taiwan, Taiwan Docs, Thai Media Fund and Movie Matters, Documentary Club, SF World Cinema CentralWorld and Bangkok Screening Room proudly present ‘Taiwan Documentary Film Festival in Bangkok 2018’, the first Taiwanese documentary film festival in Thailand.
Aimed to create art and film culture, to create a new channel for Thais to learn about Taiwanese culture and to encourage audience to study various kind of documentary films through selected 8 documentary films reflecting Taiwanese culture and way of life, Taiwan Documentary Film Festival in Bangkok 2018 will be held at SF World Cinema CentralWorld from August 30th to September 2nd, 2018.
In addition to film screenings, TDFF will organize Q&A session with 2 Taiwanese documentary filmmakers including Huang Ya-li (Le Moulin) and Tsai Tsung-lung (one of the co-directors of Sunflower Occupation) at SF World Cinema CentralWorld and the workshop which two directors will exchange their experiences with Thai students, film academics and documentary filmmakers at Bangkok Screening Room.
The opening of TDFF will take place on August 30th 2018 at SF World Cinema CentralWorld at 6 p.m. and the opening film will be Small Talk, a film by Huang Hui-chen which won Teddy Award at Berlin International film festival and was selected as Taiwanese representative in the Academy Awards foreign-language category. The film is produced by the renowned Taiwanese film director Hou Hsiao-Hsien.
