Representative Francis Kuo-Hsin Liang expressed his admiration for Tzu Chi Singapore’s achievements in humanitarian and compassionate work when he attended its 25th Anniversary Exhibition on 7 September 2018.
Accompanied by Mr. Low Swee Seh, Chief Executive Officer of Tzu Chi Foundation (Singapore), Representative Liang toured the exhibition gallery and was briefed by Ms. Seow Beng Lan on the work of Tzu Chi Singapore in the fields of charity, medicine, education, environmental protection and international relief work. The gallery also featured a photo exhibition to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Rhythms Monthly, a publication supported by Tzu Chi. Entitled “Rhythms Monthly: 20th Anniversary Photo Exhibition”, the exhibition showcases images depicting the heritage of Chinese culture in Southeast Asia as well as rare images taken in various corners of the world depicting aspects of human life and the beauty of Mother Nature.
Tzu Chi Singapore was set up in 1993 as a charity and has over 3000 volunteers who serve the family unit and conduct house visits. Last year, the 28 participants of Taiwan’s 2017 International Youth Ambassadors Exchange Program accompanied Tzu Chi volunteers on house visits as part of their learning journey to better understand Singapore’s social welfare policies.
