The 107th National Day Reception and Dinner were held by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in Chennai at Leela Palace Hotel Ballroom on Monday, October 8th, 2018. Present were Central and Tamil Nadu State government officials, MLAs, Presidents and Vice-chancellors, Registrars, Deans, Professors and students of the Universities, members of the Diplomatic Corps, entrepreneurs, representatives of NGOs, members of the Taiwanese communities, over 210 in total.
Director-General Charles Li of TECC, when addressing the gathering, briefed the guests that a”Taiwan Connect”event took place in the name of South India-Taiwan Business Council on September 22nd to introduce the strengths and opportunities of Taiwanese products and industries, which received warm feedbacks from all the Indian participants.
Taiwan’s Ministry of Education successfully held 2018 Taiwan Higher Education Exposition in Hyderabad in September 24th-25th. Most recently on October 4th-6th TAITRA organized the 2018 Smart Asia-India Expo & Forum in Bengaluru. TECC took part in the Asian Film Festival at Phoenix Megacity Shopping Mall by presenting 2 distinguished films. 5 outstanding movies were screened from October 8th to 10th at the Russian Cultural Centre in celebration of the 107th National Day of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Those events highlighted some examples of TECC’s restless efforts in promoting the bilateral relations between Taiwan and South India.
