Singapore's Chung Cheng High School Delegates Visit Chengde Junior High School to Exchange Experience in Soccer and Basketball

Students from Singapore test soccer skills with their local counterparts A delegation of 35 teachers and students from Chung Cheng High School (Yishun) in Singapore visited Taipei Municipal Chengde Junior High School to engage in cultural and creative activities, a class sit-in experience, as well as soccer and basketball camps on November 13.

In light of the trend of internationalizing education in the 21st century, the school encourages its students to engage in interactions with people from other countries. By consolidating various schools' international education resources, our school has established an international interaction and exchange mechanism for the students, allowing them to expand their horizons while at the same time facilitating foreign students to visit Taiwan. This way, the program achieves the objective of sharing Taiwan’s educational experience with international communities. Through receiving foreign educational organizations, the school's students will be able to appreciate different cultures and understand international trends, as well as cultivate their language skills and international etiquette. Furthermore, the aim is to vigorously market Taipei's characteristics such as culture, customs, ecological landscape, and culinary culture.

Our school's parents committee has designed a welcome banner and presented each member of the delegation with pineapple cakes, the iconic souvenir of Taiwan. The entire school, including teachers and students, mobilized to welcome the visiting guests.

Everyone who attended today's function – including the teachers and students from Singapore, Chengde Junior High School, and the parents committee – offered positive feedback. This was not only a brand-new experience for everyone at Chengde Junior High School but also the first time that the school has received students from abroad. When the Singaporean students were allocated to different classes for the sit-in experience, they were able to experience Chengde Junior High School's curricula and appreciate the differences between the schooling systems in Taiwan and Singapore. For the visiting students from Singapore, this event also provided them with a novel experience. For the cultural and creative experience course, the school has arranged Nantou Goang Xing Paper Mill handmade paper experience for the foreign students, and they all responded favorably to the course because it enabled them to appreciate authentic local culture.

The overseas student visit activity has drawn to a successful conclusion, and students from both schools have planned to visit each other again next year.
