On September 16, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced the updated list of countries/regions eligible for shortened quarantine periods in Taiwan. The CECC reported that no confirmed cases have been reported in the Marshall Islands and its testing level has met the criteria for low-risk countries, testing over 1,500 people per million people (the Marshall Islands tests 4,430 people per million people). Therefore, the CECC has added the Marshall Islands to its list of low-risk countries. On the other hand, in consideration of the worsening coronavirus situation in Myanmar, the CECC had removed the country from its list of medium-risk countries.
The latest list of eligible countries/regions is as follows:
1. Low-risk countries/regions: New Zealand, Macao, Palau, Fiji, Brunei, Thailand, Mongolia, Bhutan, Laos, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Nauru, East Timor, Mauritius, Vietnam, the Marshall Islands.
2. Medium-risk countries/regions: Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong.
