On September 23, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced changes to the quarantine measure imposed on all travelers arriving in Taiwan from the Philippines. In consideration of the status of the pandemic and risk of infection in the Philippines, characteristics of COVID-19, and effectiveness of testing among asymptomatic arrivals from the country, after consulting related experts, the CECC has made modifications to the quarantine measure for arrivals from the Philippines, effective from September 24. Details about the measure are listed below.
1. Travelers with symptoms must have their specimens collected at the airport upon arrival in Taiwan, and collecting specimens from travelers with no symptoms is cancelled. All travelers arriving from the Philippines must undergo quarantine at a group quarantine facility after entry and will be tested for COVID-19 before the end of the quarantine period.
2. Foreign nationals without an Alien Resident Certificate or a resident visa must provide a certificate of a negative COVID-19 test result issued within three days of boarding before they are allowed to board their transit flight or enter Taiwan. 
3. Foreign nationals, except those holding an Alien Resident Certificate or a resident visa, are required to pay NT$ 1,500 per night for their stay at a group quarantine facility.
