On January 6, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that considering that the number of travelers coming to Taiwan would increase as the Lunar New Year holiday approaches, which would increase inbound travelers' need for places to undergo quarantine, it would make 1,500-2,000 rooms of group quarantine facilities available for travelers entering Taiwan.

The CECC announced details about how arriving travelers can apply for quarantine at group quarantine facilities. Those who wish to apply to undergo quarantine at those facilities can into the Quarantine System for Entry (https://hdhq.mohw.gov.tw/) starting from January 8. After applicants provide related data and make the payment with their credit card online, the system will send a reservation code for a successful reservation to applicants, and applicants should present the code before boarding the flight to Taiwan. After arrival in Taiwan, applicants shall sign an affidavit for undergoing quarantine at a group quarantine facility at the airport and shall ride in a designated transport vehicle to proceed to the group quarantine facility. The fee for quarantine at a group quarantine facility is NT$ 2,000 per day, and children under age of 12 can stay in the same room as adults free of charge.
