On February 2, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced three new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Those three new cases (Cases #914-916) arrived in Taiwan from the United States, Japan, and the Philippines, respectively.

Case #914 is a Taiwanese woman in her 60s. The woman returned to Taiwan from the United States on January 30. Upon arrival, she voluntarily notified airport quarantine officers that she experienced diarrhea after boarding. She was tested for COVID-19 on February 1, and infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on February 2.

Case #915 is a Japanese man in his 50s. The Japanese man arrived in Taiwan on January 15. He hasn't experienced any symptoms since arrival. After completing the quarantine period, the company he worked at arranged for him to undergo testing; the nucleic acid test and antibody test results all came back positive. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on February 2.

Case #916 is a Taiwanese man in his 20s. The Taiwanese man returned to Taiwan from the Philippines on January 26. He began to experience discomfort in his throat and coughing on January 28. He voluntarily reported his symptoms to the health authority which arranged for him to seek medical care and undergo testing on February 1. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on February 2.

The CECC reported that a cumulative total of 157,162 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 153,337. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 915 cases. Of the 915 confirmed cases, 801 are imported; 75 are indigenous; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 2 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; and 1 case (Case #530) has been removed (Case #530 is not assigned to any patients). Of the confirmed cases, there have been 8 deaths, and 832 patients have been released from isolation, with the other 75 patients remaining hospitalized in isolation.
