CECC confirms 2 more imported COVID-19 cases; two asymptomatic Indonesian fishermen found to have COVID-19

On February 3, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced two new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Those two new cases, Case #917 and Case #918, arrived in Taiwan from Indonesia.

Case #917 and Case #918 are two Indonesian fishermen in their 20s. The two fishermen traveled to Taiwan for work on January 16. They haven't experienced any symptoms since arrival. After completing the quarantine period on February 1, their labor brokers arranged for them to take self-paid COVID-19 tests. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the cases on February 3.
