In order to attract outstanding international students to undertake degree studies in Taiwan, the Ministry of Education (MOE) of the Republic of China (Taiwan) is offering the “Taiwan Scholarship” program. The scholarship applicants should be a Brunei citizen with at least an A-Level accredited Diploma, IB Diploma Programme, or any other equivalent academic qualification, with an excellent academic record, and be of good moral character.
The MOE will provide the scholarship recipient up to NTD40,000 (equivalent to approximately B$1,800) for tuition and miscellaneous expenses each semester. The recipients undertaking undergraduate studies will also be granted a monthly stipend of NT15,000 (equivalent to approximately B$680), and those undertaking postgraduate studies will get NT20,000 (equivalent to approximately B$900) per month. The duration for Taiwan Scholarship is: four years for undergraduate programs, two years for master’s degree programs, and four years for doctorate programs. The maximum period offered is five years. Eligible applicants from Brunei must apply directly to the university or college for admission before the deadline and submit their application form together with all required documents to the Taipei Economic & Cultural Office in Brunei Darussalam by March 31, 2021.
