On February 22, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that the Fall-Winter COVID-19 Prevention Program, originally scheduled to be effective from December 1, 2020, to February 28, 2021, would be adjusted and continue to be implemented on and after March 1, in response to the severity of COVID-19 globally and the continued occurrence of imported cases in Taiwan. The CECC urged the general public and healthcare facilities to cooperate with the Fall-Winter COVID-19 Prevention Program.
The main aspects of this program are listed below.
A. Border quarantine: all travelers coming to Taiwan and transit passengers are required to provide a COVID-19 RT-PCR test report issued within 3 days prior to the flight schedule time before boarding the flight to Taiwan;
B. Community prevention: the mandatory mask-wearing rule continues to be enforced in eight types of venues, and violators who refuse to comply after being advised will be penalized according to laws;
C. Medical response: strengthen case reporting and specimen collection procedures, and continue adopting surveillance indicators.
