In 2021, the Ministry of Labor has included migrant workers in the National Excellent Worker Award (全國模範勞工). And the award was presented on April 29, one day before International Labor Day.
MOL launched a National Model Workers Award to show appreciation for the worker’s hard work. MOL announces the National Excellent Workers every year before Labor Day (May 1).
People who receive the National Excellent Worker Award include workers in Taiwan. This year, the award also includes migrant workers in the industry and social welfare categories. There are five "excellent migrant workers" included.

The Migrant workers are from Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand. Candidates are recommended by local governments. And then, candidates of the National Excellent Migrant will be chosen by experts.
A reward ceremony will take place on April 29. Migrant workers will get many awards, such as a certificate, a medal, and 10,000 NTD. And they will also meet President Tsai at the Office of the President.
