Labor Affairs Bureau and Civil Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government together with local immigrant groups held workshops about the chain of industries. Through senior lecturers’ explanations and by having practical experience, participating immigrants were able to understand the work environment and vocational skills.

Director-general of Labor Affairs Bureau – Zhang Da Chun (張大春) stated that the workshop combines immigrant groups and companies that specialize in hairdressing, medical aesthetics, massaging, and floral design.

Therefore, immigrants would be able to have a better understanding of the work environment and skills needed. Besides, on-site recruitment activities were able available to assist immigrants in entering the workforce within a shorter period.

Office of Employment Services, Taichung mentioned that immigrants who are interested in joining vocational training can sign up for pre-training courses. Therefore, they will have a preliminary understanding and knowledge of the job scope first and get a head start on others.
