The Education Department, New Taipei City Government recently held the Annual " Outstanding Teaching Support Staff of New Immigrants Award Ceremony". More than 100 teaching support staff gathered in Xiulang Elementary School. The event featured themes of creative bilingual teaching, elegant dance show and Southeast Asian cuisine.
This year's selection and commendation plan includes 5 awards in language teaching, campus services in public spaces, including: Yan, Yong-Zhen, who assists in editing Malay language textbooks and serves as a multicultural talent training lecturer; Ruan, Cai-Ting, who actively promotes Vietnamese language teaching and participates in the second-generation training Program.
Also, Ruan, Hong-Nu from Vietnam, jointly launched four international education classes with school to enrich the resources of the international culture and education center; the teaching support staff Wu Shi, Fang-Heng served many elementary and middle schools in rural areas, and established the Bali New Immigrants Care Association to promote public welfare; and In addition to teaching, Mu, Yah-Ni from Indonesia serves as a lecturer for the training course for new immigrant women of Social Affairs Bureau, a volunteer and an interpreter at the Sanchong New Immigrants' Domestic Service Center.
According to the Education Bureau, New Taipei City has established a 7-language co-preparation community for new immigrants since 2018. The school supervisor and the principal of the counseling group serve as teachers and use public observation classes to improve the teaching and technological capabilities of teaching support staff. The New Immigrants Language Guidance Group plans advanced community holiday courses, with the theme of digital transformation live teaching, making good use of digital tools to record the teaching process. People can learn new immigrant’s languages or participate in multicultural activities through digital platforms.
