New Taipei City Passes ICF Full Certification to Become the World's First Fully Accredited Smart City
New Taipei City has once again achieved the honor of being a leader in the field of smart cities, receiving the world's first full certification as a smart city from the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF). This certification is another achievement for New Taipei City, following its win of the ICF Smart City of the Year (TOP 1) award in 2022. Based on the first batch of results released by the ICF for its smart city certification, New Taipei City stands out for its outstanding performance in various evaluation criteria, such as connectivity, workforce development, business innovation ecosystem, community engagement, digital inclusion, and sustainability programs.

Since its establishment in 2000, the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) has been committed to evaluating annual smart city awards to strengthen international cooperation, create job opportunities, and promote economic development, making it highly credible globally. New Taipei City has achieved full certification through the two-stage evaluation process of ICF, becoming the world's first smart city to obtain full certification from ICF. This achievement marks a significant milestone in New Taipei City's efforts to promote smart city development and acknowledges the hard work put into the development of a smart city.

The New Taipei City Government Research, Development, and Evaluation Commission stated that the city government has been promoting multiple smart city applications. Through the use of New Taipei City Smart Public Health Centers and New Taipei City Virtual Ward Platform, the city has achieved remote medical care for home-based care. Additionally, the city has increased public participation in public affairs through New Taipei Vote platform and enhanced the dissemination of city and community messages through the Smart Community APP. Moreover, in order to reduce the urban-rural gap and the digital divide, the city has leveraged the power of the internet to establish EZlearn, which offers free computer courses, among other initiatives, to continuously improve the quality of life for citizens. The city is committed to using the latest technology and warm humanity to enhance convenience services and governance mechanisms, to achieve the vision of a comfortable living and joyful life for all.

The New Taipei City Government upholds the three major governance policies of "simplifying government services," "action-oriented governance," and "smart city development." In addition, we will jointly plan and implement the future development of smart cities with the spirit of "putting people first," so that the world can continue to see the determination and action of New Taipei City in developing smart cities. As the world's first smart city to receive full certification from the ICF, New Taipei City will continue to promote digital transformation with a more open and inclusive attitude, drive the construction of smart cities, and make the citizens proud. We aspire to become a proud city that connects internationally and provides valuable experience and wisdom for global urban development.
