MOFA welcomes visit by New Zealand delegation from All-Party Parliamentary Group on Taiwan

A six-member delegation from the New Zealand Parliament led by Chairperson of the Social Services and Community Select Committee Joseph Mooney MP and Cochair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Taiwan Ingrid Leary MP is visiting Taiwan from April 13 to 18. During the visit, the delegation will meet with President Tsai Ing-wen and attend banquets hosted by President of the Legislative Yuan Han Kuo-yu and Minister of Foreign Affairs Jaushieh Joseph Wu.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) was informed by the Thailand Trade and Economic Office (TTEO) on April 12 that the government of Thailand has donated NT$1 million to assist with Taiwan’s reconstruction work following the earthquake in Hualien. MOFA welcomes New Zealand’s approval of pineapple imports from Taiwan

On April 9, Taiwan and New Zealand signed amendments to add pineapples to the list of approved products in the export plan for fruit and vegetables from Taiwan into New Zealand at a joint management committee meeting on sanitary and phytosanitary measures under ANZTEC—the economic cooperation agreement between the countries. The breakthrough is the result of almost eight years of negotiations and will expand the sale of Taiwan’s agricultural products on the international market.
