In this assessment of 64 major countries and economies worldwide, Taiwan has secured the 9th position, marking an improvement of 2 places compared to 2022. The Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre (TECC) in India held an award ceremony on August 4, 2023 to present Taiwan Scholarships or Huayu Enrichment Scholarships to 129 students from countries in south Asia. Most of the recipients are from many states of India but there were also recipients from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka who received scholarships to study for a degree in Taiwan.
