In order to strengthen the implementation of Taiwan’s new southbound policy and promote the cultural exchanges between Taiwan and Thailand, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Thailand will hold “Life in Color - Lin Li-Yen’s Art exhibition” from November 28, 2019, to January 30, 2020 at the lobby of the TECO’s office. In this solo exhibition, more than 20 pieces of color ink paintings by Ms. Lin will be on display.

On 31 October 2019, Representative Francis Kuo-Hsin Liang attended the Veterans’ Day celebration organized by the R.O.C. Veterans Association in Singapore. The event saw over 60 attendees, including veterans like Mr. He Yongdao, a 99-year-old former Flying Tiger pilot, and the office bearers of the Overseas Community Affairs Council.

Amb. Chung-kwang Tien, Representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India, was invited to inaugurate and give remarks at the 3rd Guwahati International Film Festival (GIFF) in Assam on Oct. 31, 2019.

Representative Francis Kuo-Hsin Liang opened with much fanfare the art exhibition, “Taiwan in Full Bloom: Contemporary Arts of Taiwan”, at the School of the Arts Singapore on 4 October 2019. Organized jointly by the Taipei Representative Office in Singapore and Taiwan Art Bank, the exhibition saw the attendance of personalities from the arts, academia and media in Singapore.

Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India (TECC) calls on the Indian government and other major countries to support Taiwan’s participation in the meetings, mechanisms and training courses organized by the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL).

In association with the Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation, Director-General Charles C. Li of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in Chennai inaugurated the 2019 Taiwanese Film Festival at the Alliance Française of Madras in Chennai on the evening of October 14, 2019.

“Taiwan Cuisine Workshop Indonesia Tour 2019” was held in Surabaya on September 11, organized by “Taiwan Indonesia Alumni Association – East Java” (ICATI JATIM), “Taiwan Business Club Surabaya” (TBCS) cooperate with Ottimmo Academy, with a total of more than 100 participants. The workshop taught by Taiwanese renowned chefs, hoping that all participants will be able to cook authentic Taiwanese cuisine.

A student group from Taiwan’s National Chengchi University and other schools visited India to participate in voluntary services from 11th to 25th August 2019.

On 24 August 2019, Deputy Representative Steven Tai attended the opening ceremony of the Preliminary Screening of the Taiwan International Student Design Competition (TISDC) 2019 at PIXEL, Singapore. Fifteen renowned judges from 6 countries were on the assessment panel to shortlist the most outstanding works for the finals of the competition.
