As striving for local tourism, Chiayi City Government visited Thai Travel Agents Association (TTAA) for exchange on June 26. The team even held the tourism promotion in Bangkok, Thailand today. Min-hui Huang led the team as well as Chiayi Chenghuang Temple and local tourism representatives to present the most unique and local cultures and businesses of Chiayi City. People were amazed by the Jishengtang Jiajiang performance and the traditional face painting arranged by Chiayi Chenghuang Temple.

Leading an 8-member delegation, Representative Iqbal Shoffan Shofwan of the Indonesian Economic and Trade Office Taipei (IETO) arrived at Taipei City Hall to meet Mayor Chiang Wan-an and his cabinet members on June 26. The two sides exchanged views on a wide range of topics related to city administration.

Well-known online travel platform Booking.com released its top 10 sustainable tourism destinations in the world list and Tainan is the only city in Taiwan to be listed on account of the city’s commitment to developing sustainable industries and solar energy, and active deployment of smart city technologies. Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che expressed that Tainan will keep on promoting sustainable tourism and green tourism as well as working on building a smart city.

Taoyuan Mayor Chang San-Cheng presided over a community meeting this morning (May 31) to receive the prestigious “Smart 50 Awards” from the U.S. Smart Cities Connect organization. Mayor Chang expressed his gratitude as the awards were presented to Taoyuan’s Department of Environmental Protection and Department of Water Resources for their outstanding projects.

The 2023 Halal in Travel (HIT) Global Summit 2023, organized by Singapore-based CrescentRating, has selected Taipei City as the winner of the HIT Award in the category of “Most Promising Muslim-friendly City Destination of the Year (non-OIC)” on June 1!

The 2023 Taiwan Lantern Festival lantern artwork “Connect with the Ancestor” appeared on the season 1 winner’s list of the 2023 Muse Awards! The art installation is the platinum winner of Architectural Lighting under the Lighting Design Category.

The Cultural Affairs Bureau of Pingtung County announced on April 14 that the permanent exhibition “Tobacco Factory and Smoked Memories (菸．葉．廠－複薰的金黃記憶)” at the Pingtung 1936 Tobacco Culture Base (屏菸1936文化基地, PT1936) has won the prestigious iF Design Award 2023 under the category of Cultural Exhibitions.
