Representative Francis Kuo-Hsin Liang, Deputy Representative Steven Tai and other officials from the Taipei Representative Office in Singapore attended the United Chinese Library’s dinner and inaugural golf event to mark its 107th anniversary as well as Singapore’s 52 years of independence.  Mr. Toh Soon Huat, BBM, Chairman of the Sian Chay Medical Institution, was the guest of honor at the event which hosted over 400 guests, including the advisers and the commissioner from the Overseas Community Affairs Council as well as the office bearers of the Alumni of Taiwan Universities and Colleges, and the Taipei Business Association in Singapore.

During his address at the event, Representative Liang hailed Singapore as a vibrant garden city that is the envy of the world.  He also highlighted the close trade, cultural, educational and tourism exchanges between Taiwan and Singapore.  Additionally, Representative Liang affirmed the role of the United Chinese Library, which has a heritage of over 100 years, as an important Chinese cultural center and a memorial center to remember Dr. Sun and uphold his values.
