The Taipei Representative Office in Singapore launched its own Facebook page last month to great success, swiftly gaining a fan following of over 700 persons within its first week.   The page aims to keep its fans and followers updated on the latest news and happenings in Taiwan and Singapore, and share stories of events and people that uplift, engage and inspire the community.

As a welcome gesture to the Facebook fans and followers of the Taipei Representative Office in Singapore, the Representative Office is conducting a month-long promotion with special weekly giveaways.  Those who post photos of their Taiwan holidays, like the Taipei Representative Office in Singapore’s Facebook page and also share the post with their friends will stand a chance of winning souvenirs from Taiwan.
 

Representative Francis Kuo-Hsin Liang of the Taipei Representative Office in Singapore highlighted that there were over 420,000 visitors from Singapore to Taiwan in 2016.  With the prevalence of mobile phones, he believes that many would have taken photos on their phones during their visit to Taiwan.  “Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder”, and the act of sharing of beautiful photos will enable more people to appreciate what constitutes beauty in the eyes of others.  In the first week of the month-long promotion, over 70 netizens have posted their photos capturing the precious memories of their visit in Taiwan.  Although the give-away applies only to those residing in Singapore, a number of Taiwanese netizens have also posted their photos on the page.  Representative Liang expressed his appreciation to the latter for their efforts in helping to promote Taiwan as a holiday destination.
