Taipei Representative Office in Singapore Hosts Special Screening of “The Great Buddha +”

On 2 December 2017, the Taipei Representative Office in Singapore hosted over 150 guests to a special screening of “The Great Buddha +”,   which won Best Feature Film and Best New Director at this year’s Golden Horse Awards.

In his address, Representative Francis Kuo-Hsin Liang pointed out that “The Great Buddha +” has received widespread international acclaim and popular appeal.  It was not only the biggest winner at the Golden Horse Awards,  but had also won the NETPAC Award at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival and has taken the international film festival circuit by storm.  The film’s director, Mr. Huang Hsin-yao and its two male leads, Mr. Cres Chuang and Mr. Bamboo Chen, made an appearance at the end of the screening, and were greeted by enthusiastic Singapore fans looking for photo opportunities.

Additionally, the film, which was shortlisted for the Silver Screen feature award at the 2017 edition of the Singapore International Film Festival, played to full house audiences during its three film festival screenings.
