16th R.O.C Delegation of Teen Diplomatic Envoys Visits Singapore

Representative Francis Liang (first row, center) hosted the 16th R.O.C Delegation of Teen Diplomatic Envoys meeting with Taiwan compatriots and members of the Taipei Business Association in Singapore.
 

On 8 February 2018, the 16th ROC Delegation of Teen Diplomatic Envoys called on Representative Francis Kuo-Hsin Liang at the Taipei Representative Office in Singapore.  The delegation consisted of 12 students from Taoyuan Municipal Wu-Ling Senior High School, Taipei Fuhsing Private School and Taipei First Girls High School who were selected from over 400 candidates nominated by 122 educational institutions in Taiwan.  Also present at the meeting were Taiwan compatriots and members of the Taipei Business Association in Singapore.

Representative Liang congratulated the teen diplomats for being selected to participate in the program.  In his remarks, he highlighted the close relations between Taiwan and Singapore.  As one of the most important economies in Southeast Asia, Singapore also plays a critical role in Taiwan’s ‘New Southbound Policy.  As such, Representative Liang urged the visiting teen diplomats to seize this opportunity to observe and extend their learning through engaging in new experiences and environments.

The Taipei Representative Office in Singapore arranged for the teen diplomats under the Teen Diplomatic Envoys program to visit various governmental, non-governmental and cultural organizations in Singapore from 6 to 10 February, including the APEC Secretariat, Singapore Press Holdings, and Zhenghua Community Club. The office also facilitated exchanges between the teen diplomats and students from the National University of Singapore and Hwa Chong Institution.
