Representative Francis Kuo-Hsin Liang attended the United Chinese Library’s Lunar New Year gathering held on 16 February 2019 at the invitation of the Library’s President, Mr. Cham Seng Yin.

After paying their respects to the founder of the United Chinese Library, Dr. Sun Yat-sen, everyone at the Library joined in the singing of songs and tossing of yusheng. In his address, Representative Liang highlighted the close and growing links between Taiwan and Singapore in the areas of economy, tourism and culture and education.  He also commended the United Chinese Library for its achievements as an important Chinese cultural center in Singapore. As the United Chinese Library steps into its 109th year, Representative Liang expressed his hope that it will continue to exemplify the values and ideals of Dr. Sun.

Other invited guests at the gathering included office bearers of the Overseas Community Affairs Council, the Taipei Business Association, various Chinese clan associations, the Federation of Art Societies (Singapore), and officials from the Taipei Representative Office in Singapore.
