Taipei Economic and Trade Office in Surabaya held a “Taiwan Visa Seminar” on May 2nd, inviting East Java province officials, tourism representatives, and human power agency attending the seminar explaining the procedures and precautions for Indonesian apply for visas in Taiwan.

Director General TETO Surabaya Benson Lin said that Taiwan and Indonesia have had close relationship in economy, trade, education, culture and tourism for many years. Especially after Taiwan implemented the new Southbound policy in recent years, bilateral relations are even closer. In the year of (2018), the number of Indonesian people went to  Taiwan reached 180,000, an increase of 11.5% compared with 2017. In the same year, the number of Taiwanese tourists visiting Indonesia exceeded 200,000. Taiwan became the 15th largest source of tourism in Indonesia. There are 100 flights between Taiwan and Indonesia in a week, and I hope that the interaction between the two peoples will be more intense in the future!
