On 26 March 2018, Representative Francis Kuo-Hsin Liang visited the Taiwan Pavilion at the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) Conference and Exhibition, an annual event which brings together international education policy-makers, practitioners and experts from across the globe.  Over 60 representatives from 27 Taiwan universities, including the National Taiwan Normal University, the National Chengchi University, and the National Cheng Kung University, were at the “Study in Taiwan” pavilion to promote their institutions and course offerings.

To encourage greater networking and collaboration in international education, the Taipei Representative Office in Singapore and the Foundation for International Cooperation in Higher Education of Taiwan (FICHET) jointly hosted over 100 APAIE delegates to a “Taiwan Night” reception.  In his address at the event, Representative Liang emphasized the value of international educational exchanges and experiences, and expressed Taiwan’s desire to deepen bilateral exchanges and the cultivation of young scholars, students and industry professionals with partners in the region through the “New Southbound Policy”.
