New Southbound Policy Portal

Indonesian, Thai and Vietnamese language versions of the New Southbound Policy Portal operated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were officially launched Aug. 24 as part of government efforts to promote the regional initiative.
 
Featuring in-depth information, news reports and updates, the portal is considered an authoritative one-stop shop for the latest policy developments. Initially unveiled in Chinese and English in 2016, it plays a key role in deepening understanding of the NSP at home and abroad.
 
Addition of the three Southeast Asian languages was implemented in line with two of MOFA Minister Jaushieh Joseph Wu’s eight main objectives for his first 100 days in office, namely improving the ministry’s new media capabilities and promoting the NSP. 
 
A key plank in President Tsai Ing-wen’s national development strategy, the policy seeks to enhance Taiwan’s agricultural, business, cultural, education, tourism and trade ties with the 10 Association of Southeast Asian Nations member states, six South Asian countries, Australia and New Zealand.
