Lin Li-Yen

Taiwan’s unique species of flowers and birds

In order to strengthen the implementation of Taiwan’s new southbound policy and promote the cultural exchanges between Taiwan and Thailand, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Thailand will hold “Life in Color - Lin Li-Yen’s Art exhibition” from November 28, 2019, to January 30, 2020 at the lobby of the TECO’s office. In this solo exhibition, more than 20 pieces of color ink paintings by Ms. Lin will be on display.

Ms. Lin, who currently lives in Bangkok, specializes in flowers and birds color painting, and has been engaged in the creation of Eastern Gouache in recent years. She learned the Chinese flowers and birds painting from Master Du Deng-Yin, and she was guided by Professor Li Zong-ren, a contemporary ink painting artist while she studied her master degree at the National Taiwan University of the Arts. Under Prof. Li’s tutoring, she began to transform her painting style to be more delicate, and to develop her own style of the brushwork, color, and composition, making her works mixed traditional elegance with contemporary visual beauty.

The artworks in this exhibition feature Taiwan’s unique species of flowers and birds. Taiwan is a beautiful island full of numerous and unique native species of flowers and birds. Ms. Lin hopes to convey to the audience another image of Taiwan through artistic and visual depictions of the country.

The opening ceremony of “Life in Color - Lin Li-yen’s Art Exhibition” will be held at 11:00 am on December 2, 2019. Guests are warmly welcomed to join and share their experience of art with Ms. Lin.

Venue: 40/64 Vibhavadi-Rangsit 66, Laksi, 10210 Bangkok.
