The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Myanmar witnessed the signing of Medical MOU between Hospitals from Taiwan and Myanmar

Representatives from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Myanmar (TECO) and The Leprosy Mission Myanmar(TLMM) witnessed the signing of Memorandum of Understanding between Taiwan Changhua Christian Hospital (CCH) and Mawlamyine Christian Leprosy Hospital (MCLH) for the donation of medical material and the strengthening of the medical cooperation on 28 July 2020.

Established by the British missionary Wellesley Bailey in 1874, The Leprosy Mission (TLM) is committed to empowering all people with equal access to medical cares. Following the vision of the TLM, the founder of the Leprosy Mission Myanmar, Dr. Zaw Moe Aung, and Representative of TECO, Ambassador Charles C. Li, made joint efforts to contribute to the signing of the above MOU aiming to the further enhancement of medical expertise and training of hospital personnel for the MCLH in Mawlamyine, Mon State.

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic in Myanmar, the TECO continually donate medical devices and surgical masks to the local related medical institutes. Taiwan Changhua Christian Hospital (CCH) also conducted several video conferences with Myanmar experts and those from other New Southbound Policy Destination Countries to build the capacity of cambatting the COVID-19 pendemic.
