Taiwan Tourism Bureau and Taiwan Visitors Association led a delegation to participate in the 10th Travel Madness Expo (TME) from 30 June to 2 July 2023. Two Taiwan Tourism Workshops were held, with one in Clark on 28 June,  and the other in Manila on 30 June.

Ambassador Wallace Minn-Gan Chow, Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines joined the aforesaid workshops. In his remarks, he noted that the Philippine tourism market has huge potential as Taiwan and the Philippines are geographically close, and the number of the weekly flights between both countries is growing. He also announced that Taiwan just extended the trial 14-day visa-free entry program from 1 August 2023 to 31 July 2024 for nationals of the Philippines. As Taiwan is targeting 320,000 Filipino tourists to Taiwan in 2023, he encouraged all Filipino friends to travel visa free to Taiwan.

Ambassador Chow also visited the Taiwan Pavilion on the day of the TME grand opening. This year’s Taiwan Pavilion highlighted interesting activities and local tastes, such as OhBear foldable Frisbees fan painting, DIY pineapple cakes, sustainable straw weaving workshops, DIY pineapple cakes, pearl milk tea, red bean milk shaved ice, etc. Taiwan’s performance group “Eye Catching Circus” presents lively dances, which showcased Taiwan’s diverse culture and hospitality.
