Representative Wallace Chow attended the Send-Off Ceremony of the Filipino Young Farmers Internship Program in Taiwan (FYFIPT) Batch 3 on August 8, 2023.
In his message to the 49 qualified interns, Rep. Chow highlighted Taiwan has been widely recognized as one of the leading countries in the field of tropical agriculture, as well as a reliable partner to share its best practices in agricultural technologies with the Philippines. He urged young Filipino farmers to learn as much as possible in Taiwan, and come back to reshape the landscape of Philippine agriculture to ensure food security.
The FYFIPT is a joint effort of TECO and the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) in collaboration with the Philippine Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) since 2021. This program aims to develop deserving young Filipino farmers to become empowered farmer leaders and agricultural entrepreneurs via intensive exposures to unlearn, learn, and re-learn techniques, technologies, and strategies in advancing the agriculture, fisheries, and other allied sectors in Taiwan.
