An international sports events workshop was held June 21 in Taipei City, spotlighting government efforts to foster transformation of competitions and explore methods of integrating them with a city’s image, according to the Ministry of Education.

On June 19, 2024, at the Hilton Taipei Sinban Hotel, the New Taipei City Government, in collaboration with the international organization ICF (Intelligent Community Forum), co-hosted the “2024 NTPC Smart City International Forum and ICF Top7 Global Cities Announcement.” The forum’s theme was “AI: The Innovation Accelerator,” which explored how artificial intelligence has contributed to economic growth, sustainability, and human welfare.

A delegation of diplomats and officials from Taiwan’s academic circles attended the Asia Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) 2024 Conference and Exhibition in Perth from March 4 to March 8 to promote international exchanges within the Asia-Pacific region and showcase Study-in-Taiwan opportunities.

The Organization of Taiwan Education and Cultural, Malaysia, worked together with the Malaysian Conforming Secondary Schools Principals Council and four State Education Departments to organize the 2024 Study in Taiwan Higher Education Expo for government-subsided National Chinese Secondary Schools in Malaysia which are known as SMJK schools.

The National Human Rights Museum (NHRM), the Federation of International Human Rights Museums – Asia Pacific (FIHRM-AP), and the Artists at Risk Connection (ARC) co-organized the “Past, Present, and Future: Art and Freedom of Creative Expression” network development and workshop on June 18 and 19. This event brought together artists and human rights organizations from Nepal, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

The program will also bring in the shortlist for ICF Top7 Global Cities Announcement of the Year.

An international conference on sea lane security took place June 7 in Taipei City as part of ongoing government efforts to promote transnational technology cooperation and safeguard global maritime security, according to the Ocean Affairs Council.

Two delegations from India and South Korea recently visited Taiwan to learn about the government’s execution of policies on gender violence prevention, the Ministry of Health and Welfare said June 8.
