Representative Phoebe Yeh attended the launching ceremony of 2023 Taiwan Higher Education Fair, organized by the Federation of Alumni Associations of Taiwan Universities, Malaysia (FAATUM) on February 12, 2023. The Fair will take place in Kota Kinabalu, Sibu, Batu Pahat, Kuala Lumpur and Penang from March 27 to April 12. In her remarks, Representative Yeh marked the fair as one of Taiwan’s biggest overseas educational events despite three years of disruption due to the pandemic. The Fair enables representatives from Taiwan’s universities to introduce face-to-face the latest information to students and parents across Malaysia.
 

 

Representative Yeh applauded the efforts of the FAATUM in organizing sessions and online education fairs to provide students in Malaysia with information on further studies and assisting students travelling to Taiwan during the pandemic, which has contributed to around 13,000 Malaysian students studying in Taiwan in 2022. She also appreciated FAATUM’s long-term support for Taiwan.
 

 

The attendees in the event included Datuk Dr Tang Yong Chew, the chairman of FAATUM, Mr Tan Tai Kim, chairman of United Chinese School Committees Association of Malaysia, Mr Sik Lin Chuan, the chairman of Taiwan Study Tour Committee, and Ms Beh Siok Kun, Deputy Director of Language Unit in Learning Sector, Selangor State Education Department.
