Representative of Taiwan in Malaysia Phoebe Yeh visited flood victims in Johor state and donated US$60,000 for flood relief on March 12.

Rep. Yeh said, "When I learned that Johor has suffered heavy rains and floods, I immediately thought Taiwan can do something to help ".

During the donation ceremony in Chaah, Rep. Yeh represented the government and people of Taiwan to thank all who are rushing for help, including Taiwan’s NGOs branch in Malaysia such as Tzu Chi and Fo Guan Shan, who are here to work with local communities to help people in need.

"We appreciate the joint efforts of YB Pang Hok Liong, YB Wong Shu Qui, YB State Assemblyman Ng Kor Sim and all community representatives. My office will continue working closely with your government and private sectors to enhance friendship between Malaysia and Taiwan." she said.

She continued, “Though our donation is not big, but our hearts are warm. Hope we all work together to overcome the difficulties and challenges. Let’s pray that tomorrow will be better”.

The donation will benefit 17 local organizations across five Johor counties seriously affected by floods.
