Director General Isaac Chiu attends 2023 Taiwan Higher Education Fair in Surabaya
 

The Taiwan Education Center in Indonesia held the “2023 Taiwan Higher Education Fair” in Surabaya on March 13. Director General of Taipei Economic and Trade Office in Surabaya Mr. Isaac Chiu attends and co-hosts the opening ceremony with  Muhammad Madyan, vice president of Airlangga University and Yinghui Chen, dean of International College, Asia University.

In his remark, Director General Isaac Chiu points out that Taiwan’s higher education enjoys international reputation because of three reasons: high-quality educational resources, an open and free international educational exchange atmosphere, and a mature research and development environment. DG Chiu also mentions several educational exchange programs and scholarship programs between Taiwan and Indonesia under the New Southbound Policy in recent years. In addition, DG Chiu underlines that Taiwan’s successful semiconductor industry is a proof that Taiwan’s education attaches great importance to R&D and innovation. DG Chiu also takes the opportunity to promote the Employment Gold Card that is launched by the Taiwanese Government to attract outstanding international talents to work in Taiwan.

The Higher Education Fair officially starts after DG Chiu, Vice President Madyan and Dean Chen struck the gong together. Hundreds of Indonesian students and teachers inquire about relevant information. There are 35 universities from Taiwan that participate in the fair, including National Taiwan University, Shih Hsin University, Yunlin University of Science and Technology, National Chenggung University, Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism, Kunshan University of Science and Technology, China Medical University, Tzu Chi University, and Fuying University of Science and Technology, etc.
