Computex Taipei, one of the world’s top three information and communications technology trade shows, begins May 30 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center.

According to co-organizer Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the four-day event brings together 1,000 exhibitors from 26 countries and territories to showcase the latest products and solutions. TAITRA Chairman James C. F. Huang said during a news conference held May 29 that this year’s edition spotlights advanced technology.

Computex Taipei will highlight emerging trends in areas spanning artificial intelligence applications, high-performance computing, hyperreality, innovations and startups, next-gen connectivity, and sustainability. Huang added that this global event attracts decision makers from around the world.

The trade show comprises numerous activities including forums and keynote speeches delivered by industry leaders such as Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of U.S.-based Nvidia Corp., and Alex Katouzian, senior vice president of U.S.-headquartered Qualcomm Inc. Forums will focus on metaverse applications, semiconductors and sustainable development with speakers hailing from such giants as Intel Corp., Siemens AG and Texas Instruments Inc.

Another major feature of the show is the “ESG GO!” series of activities on sustainable green energy, which aims to reduce carbon use. Under the ESG GO! banner, show organizers will recognize qualified companies with special booth signs and invite all Computex participants and attendees to use the Earth Mission mobile application to take on a three-week challenge to develop sustainable living habits. The organizers will also plant trees in the Amazon rainforest based on the number of people who have downloaded the app.

Other activities include business networking events, buyers’ experience sharing meetings and innovation competitions, according to the TAITRA. (YCH-E)
