The Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in Chennai arranged for DigiTimes, a professional media in Taiwan’s information industry, to host a symposium with Taiwanese businessmen on October 31. The theme was “Looking at India’s development from the perspective of global market and supply chain trends”. The deputy general manager Manager Huang Yiping gave the lecture.

Mr. Huang believes that India is expected to become the new world factory. India is the biggest beneficiary of this global supply chain restructuring. With its demographic dividend and vast consumer market, India has become the fifth largest economy in the world.

The key points of the summary symposium are as follows: Mr. Huang comprehensively summarized India’s economic and trade data over the years, especially in industries such as electric vehicles, laptops, and smartphones, analyzed the growth trends of the Indian market, and compared it with the development processes of China, Vietnam and other countries. In comparison, while being optimistic about India’s future prospects, we still point out the limitations of India’s supply chain development, including
(1) foreign companies dominate the market and lack of local designs and brands;
(2) low government operation efficiency, local government fragmentation and infrastructure construction Insufficient;
(3) low labor mobility and lack of sufficient skilled labor;
(4) industrial development is dominated by large groups and cannot form the diversified industries and supply chains that are blooming across China.
