Ocean Affairs Council Minister Kuan Bi-ling attended the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation’s Ocean-Related Ministerial Meeting (AOMM) April 30 and May 1 in Busan, South Korea.

A conference on dengue prevention and control was held April 22-23 in the southern Taiwan city of Tainan to facilitate discussion between members of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation on ways to employ innovative technology to address new challenges in the post-COVID-19 era.

Healthy eating is one of the key issues for the elderly. In response, Health Promotion Administration of Ministry of Health and Welfare in collaboration with APEC, hosted an international conference today, focusing on three main themes: nutrition policies, empirical research, and AI applications. The prestigious annual APEC sports event, the “2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Sports Policy Network Roundtable Meeting and Forum (2025 ASPN Roundtable Meeting & Forum),” took place in Japan February 6th to 7th. During the two-day event, discussions on specialized sports topics, a display of sports innovations, and sports event observer activities featured 25 speakers from 13 countries, seven sports innovation teams, and nearly 100 local sports practitioners.

Taiwan is donating US$1 million this year to assist with capacity building for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) members and to bolster APEC research capabilities. The contribution will be allocated to the Human Security Sub Fund, the Digital Innovation Sub Fund, the Women and the Economy Sub Fund, and the Policy Support Unit.
