In March 2020, the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) launched the “Central Sulawesi Earthquake WASH Recovery Program (Indonesia).” This project marks the continued support of Taiwan to the earthquake affected population in 2018 in Central Sulawesi. The project will help the target population to gain access to clean water and sanitary facilities and reduce open defecation practices, so that they can rebuild their lives and livelihoods as soon as possible.

Four restaurants in Taiwan have been named on this year's Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list, led by Taipei’s Michelin-starred modern European restaurant MUME, which ranked No. 18 overall.
Other honorees include the Taichung Singaporean restaurant JL Studio at No. 26, the Taipei bistro RAW at No. 36, and the Japanese-style Nihonryori RyuGin, which is located in Taipei, at No. 43.

Taiwan ranked happiest country in East, Southeast Asia: survey

Taiwan has been ranked as the happiest country in East and Southeast Asia in a global happiness report released by a United Nations-affiliated organization on Friday. The report, produced by the U.N.'s Sustainable Development Solutions Network, ranked Taiwan 25th in the world among 153 countries and regions for happiness based on such criteria as GDP per capita, social support, life expectancy, freedom, generosity, and perceptions of corruption.
