In response to the projected consequences of the novel coronavirus COVID-19, the Ministry of Culture has been working on mapping out the necessary precautions required for Ministry-affiliated venues while drafting a relief package to alleviate the outbreak's impact on culture and the arts.
Taipei, Feb. 7 (CNA) The ASEAN basketball league (ABL) has postponed its upcoming games in Taiwan due to the government's ban on the entry of certain travelers as part of its prevention efforts against the deadly 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV).
Dr. Thi Thanh Phuong, Vice Rector of the University of Foreign Languages and Studies gave a welcoming speech in which she said that the relations between Taiwan and Vietnam are very close, and that this conference would certainly enhance Mandarin teaching in central Vietnam. She also said that the university was very happy to cohost this event and will continue to work with the Education Division in the future.
A prime aim of this professional development program was to promote further collaboration between Malaysia and Taiwan in the field of Chinese language learning and teaching. The program was organized with the support of Taiwan’s Ministry of Education, and the Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia. The participants, from each of the states in Malaysia, were assigned by the Ministry of Education, Malaysia.

The 2020 Taipei International Book Exhibition (TIBE), which saw 580,000 visitors last year, has been postponed until May in the wake of escalating fears over the spread of a new coronavirus, the Ministry of Culture (MOC) said in a statement Thursday. The MOC statement said that the 2020 TIBE, which was originally scheduled to be held Feb. 4-9 at Taipei World Trade Center will now be held May 7-12.

One Art Taipei 2020, an exhibition that is usually held in a city hotel, opened to the public Saturday with a display of more than 3,000 contemporary art works from across Asia. The art fair, spread over three floors at The Sherwood Taipei, featured works by artists from Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, and Hong Kong and from 67 galleries from across Asia.
